Normally you’d make a mental note and forget it. With cloudbank you get out your phone, make an audio recording and share it instantly with other language students.What problems/issues is it tackling?Language learners at some point reach a plateau from where it’s difficult to progress – and the things you don’t understand you brush over and make up for from the context of what people are saying. But you still notice when you hear something that was missing. Cloudbank prevents you from simply noticing it and forgetting about it.And the sharing of the discoveries is very useful to other language learners.How would you like other software developers and users to get involved in what you are doing?I’d love it they could get involved. Every time we speak to users aspects of social networking come up, but we only have fuzzy ideas about integration. So if anyone has any ideas of how to work it into social network software that would be great.What developer communities have you been involved in and if none, why not?We’re just starting with that. There’s not really a community involved yet. But we will open source and are hoping other people will pick it up. We have a wide group of language learners we do focus groups with too.What is the coolest or most exciting thing in educational software development?Things like SCRATCH from the MIT … anything that emphasises the concept of social learning.
